German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle Friday greeted the nuclear disarmament agreement between the US and Russia as a good sign for reduction of arms worldwide, dpa reported.
"This is a good day for disarmament," Westerwelle said in Berlin.
The new START agreement is a milestone that will help bring global disarmament forward, Westerwelle said.
"I hope this is not only a strong signal for the evaluation conference of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) in early May, but also for international disarmament efforts in other areas."
