More than 10,000 people were evacuated on Saturday after heavy downpours hit the Dandong City in northeast China, Xinhua reported.

More than 10,000 people were evacuated on Saturday after heavy downpours hit the Dandong City in northeast China, Xinhua reported.

Heavy rains caused the Yalu River, on the border with North Korea, to flood parts of the city. As a result, electricity supplies have been cut off to parts of Dandong, over 200 houses were damaged or destroyed, RIA Novosti reported.

Three people are listed as missing. No deaths have been reported so far.

Heavy rains were registered overnight across China. Meteorologists forecast that in some regions rains would for at least three days.
