A clash in the north of Honduras killed on Sunday two policemen and four criminals, Xinhua reported according to the spokesman for the Security Ministry Leonel Sauceda.
"This shows that they (the policemen) are national heroes committed to defending the Honduran people," Sauceda told local media.
According to him, the criminals were aboard a taxi and shot against traffic agents in a check point on early Sunday in El Progreso city, some 230 km north to Tegucigalpa.
The police also seized three fire weapons.
