German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle on Sunday condemned two bomb blasts in the Swedish capital Stockholm that killed one person and injured two, dpa reported.
Swedish authorities were trying to assess whether the dead person was in fact a suicide bomber, and designated Saturday night's bombings as a terrorist attack.
"I condemn yesterday's suicide attack in Stockholm, in the middle of a European capital," Westerwelle said in a statement. "Attacks such as this make it clear that we must not slacken in our engagement against terrorism."
Last month Germany increased vigilance in airports, stations and public places in response to warnings of terrorist threats directed at the country.
