One police officer was killed and four other policemen injured in a remote control bomb attack on Tuesday morning in Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar, local sources said.
According to police, inspector Rasool Shah along with his four other subordinates was patrolling in Mathra, an area in the outskirts of Peshawar. When they were coming back after checking a police check post a remote control bomb fixed along with the road exploded and destroyed the van completely, Xinhua reported.
Inspector Shah died on the spot while four other injured policemen have been shifted to the Lady Reading hospital where his driver was told in critical condition.
Police and security agencies reached the site and started investigations.
No group has claimed responsibility of the attack yet.
