At least 16 people were killed in a bus accident in Nepal's western district of Doti on Wednesday, police said, DPA reported.
Police said the bus skidded off the road and fell down some 300 metres downhill killing 14 people on the spot. Two died later in hospital.
Police officer KC Birendra said the death toll was likely to rise as several of 22 people rescued from the wreck were in critical condition.
Hundreds die in road accidents in Nepal every year, caused by bad roads and reckless driving.
