Boy survives 15-metre fall from window in Slovakia

A one-year-old boy has survived a fall from the third floor of an apartment building in Slovakia, the Cas.sk news portal reported Wednesday.

The child, named only as Andrejko, had climbed onto a windowsill and fell from the open window, according to the report. He sustained serious head and chest injuries in the 15-meter fall but remained conscious, DPA reported.

Before the incident, Andrejko's mother had reportedly left him alone for a short time while she went to the toilet, his father told Cas.sk.

Police were however investigating whether parental negligence had played a role.
