French police have recovered videos that shooting-spree suspect Mohamed Merah filmed during the three deadly attacks he carried out in south-western France, a federal prosecutor said Thursday.
When he shot his first victim, a French soldier, he can be heard on the video exclaiming: "You kill my brothers, I kill you," Francois Molins told reporters after Merah, 23, was killed in a shootout with police in the city of Toulouse, dpa reported.
During his second attack on another group of French soldiers, which left two dead and one seriously injured, he can be heard screaming "Allahu Akbar" - God is great - as he sped off, according to Molins.
It is now unquestionable that Merah was behind the shooting spree, which also left a teacher and three children dead at a Jewish school, Molins said. But he added that the investigation continues to look at whether he had any accomplices or support.
