India and Australia announced Wednesday that they would start negotiations on a civil nuclear energy cooperation agreement that would enable Australia to sell uranium to India, reported dpa.
The announcement followed talks between visiting Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi.
The two leaders discussed a range of issues including boosting bilateral trade and investment and counter-terrororism and security cooperation, a joint statement issued after the meeting said.
