Although disagreements among the G8 leaders on Syria remain, in the process of negotiations we reached a number of agreements, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom David Cameron said at a press conference following the G8 summit, RIA Novosti reported.
The British Prime Minister listed a few points where an agreement was reached. Firstly, all the leaders advocate for a peaceful resolution of the situation, he said.
"We have agreed to draw lessons from Iraq and to maintain the functioning of essential institutions in a time of political changes. We have agreed to work together in the fight against terrorism and extremism. We condemn the use of chemical weapons by anyone and want a thorough investigation by the UN of what is happening in this aspect," he said.
