A suicide bomber detonated explosives near the United States' main Bagram military base in Afghanistan on Wednesday, the US military has said, Trend reports citing Sputnik.
The bombing targeted a medical facility outside the base, located north of the capital Kabul.
Reports immediately after the attack suggested that a US military convoy might have been the target, but the US military reported that the explosion targeted a gate of the facility.
There were no coalition or US casualties, Resolute Support, the NATO-led non-combat mission in Afghanistan, has confirmed. The mission said, however, that a medical base being constructed near the base for locals was badly damaged.
