(Itar-Tass) - Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov said Russia would spend 4,939 billion roubles to be used to purchase weapons.
Ivanov told President Vladimir Putin on Monday, Under the 2007-2015 state arms programme, Russia will spend 4,939 billion roubles for this purpose. The draft programme will be considered at a session of the commission on the military-industrial complex on June 2.
The Defence Ministry will be provided 4,000 billion roubles and about 1,000 billion roubles will be allocated to other power-yielded structures, the minister said, adding, under the new programme, over 63 percent of all funding will be provided to purchase batches of armament.
