The Bursa Mayor gave an interview on the prohibition of the Azerbaijani flag at the Turkey-Armenia football match held in Bursa on Oct.14, the Turkish embassy told Trend .
The Azerbaijani flag is as dear to the Turkish people as Turkey's flag, in addition the Turkey-Armenia football match was organized by FİFA, the mayor said.
The Turkey-Armenia football match was organized by FİFA and we had to adhere to common rules and principles, the report said. The mayor has denied a ban on the Azerbaijani flags saying that about 238 Azerbaijani flags were waving during the match at the stadium.
