Mahmoud Abbas, the chairman of the Palestinian National Authority, during his visit to Turkey, met with Turkish President Abdullah Gul today, the Russian service of the Turkish state TV channel TRT reported. The leaders' meeting was held face-to-face and with the participation of delegations of both countries.
During the meeting, Abbas informed Gul on the situation in the region.
Earlier, the head of the Palestinian Authority, met with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
During the meeting with Erdogan, such issues as the peace process in the Middle East, Palestinian relations with the countries of the region and ensuring unity in Palestine were discussed.
On Monday morning, Mahmoud Abbas attended the ceremony. Afterwards, the humanitarian convoy, organized by the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges, headed to Palestine.
The Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges sends to Palestine 67.5 tons of textile products, estimated at more than 1 million Turkish lira.
The uniforms will be made for 101,000 Palestinian schoolchildren.
