Turkish president: Fictional ‘Armenian genocide’ is used for political gain
Azerbaijan, Baku, April 27 / Trend, A.Taghiyeva /
Some forces use fictional "Armenian genocide" promoted by the Armenian lobby every year for political gain, TRT Haber TV channel quotes Turkish President Abdullah Gul as saying on Friday.
"The parliaments of some countries make unfair decisions on this issue, trying to strike a blow to Turkey," Gul said.
President Gul once again urged Armenia and the Armenian lobby to establish a joint commission to investigate the 1915 events. The Armenian side's refusal to investigate these events is an indication that all the allegations of the Armenians are not true.
Armenia and the Armenian lobby claim that the predecessor of the Turkish - Ottoman Empire had committed the 1915 genocide against those Armenians living in Anadolu and achieved recognition of the "Armenian Genocide" by the parliaments of several countries.
