Turkey's Parliament will hold an emergency meeting on Wednesday to discuss the charges against four of its former ministers who resigned in the wake of the December 17 anti-graft investigations Anadolu Agency reproted.

Summaries of the charges will be read in the General Assembly and will also be broadcast live by Turkish parliament television.

Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag will address the assembly on the cabinet's behalf.

The parliamentary group chairman of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), Akif Hamzacebi, expressed at a press conference his belief that deputies from the ruling AK Party would act with common sense regarding the summaries.

Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) deputy Hasip Kaplan said the government should inform the public of the charges.

The AK Party's parliamentary group chairman, Mustafa Elitas, said all the party's deputies will be present at the meeting.

"After the meeting in the General Assembly, we will submit a group motion to the parliament to maintain the recess until April 1," Elitas added.

After the emergency meeting, the deputies will vote by secret ballot on whether to set up a commission of inquiry within the Turkish parliament.
