By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:
Turkey may resume the relations with Israel if the crisis in its relations with Russia goes deeper, Yusuf Kaplan, foreign policy expert, columnist of Turkish Yeni Safak newspaper told Trend.
He believes that Turkey can restore the relations with Israel when it has no alternative.
Western countries played a significant role in deterioration of Turkey's relations with Russia, according to the expert.
The West has promised Russia to lift all the sanctions if Moscow launches a military operation against radicals in Syria, said Kaplan.
After the aggravation of Turkish-Russian relations, some Turkish media outlets said that Turkey and Israel will resume the relations that deteriorated in 2010 after the Freedom Flotilla incident.
Earlier, Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu confirmed the fact of secret talks between Turkey and Israel.
He noted that it is difficult to achieve success in normalizing the relations between the two countries without holding talks.
Moreover, previously, Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the conditions of normalizing the relations with Israel.
He said that Israeli authorities should apologize for the Freedom Flotilla incident, pay compensation to the families of those killed and end the blockade of the Gaza Strip.
The process for normalizing the relations can start only after fulfilling these conditions, Erdogan added.
