Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec.21

By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:

Turkey may lift immunity of some parliament members from the opposition Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), Milliyet newspaper reported Dec.21.

The reason is that some MPs from the HDP sympathize with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and support the actions of this organization, according to the newspaper.

Moreover, earlier, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu criticized the policy of the Peoples' Democratic Party.

Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) has become more active in south-eastern Turkey and attacks on military units and police stations have become more frequent in recent months.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for over 25 years and has claimed more than 40,000 lives.

The UN and the European Union listed the PKK as a terrorist organization.
