Blast in Istanbul kills 10 (UPDATING) (PHOTO-VIDEO)

13:52 (GMT+4) The Turkish authorities have confirmed the death of ten people in an explosion in Istanbul, the Turkish TRT Haber TV channel reported Jan.12. Fifteen people were injured in the explosion, according to the channel.
The TV channel reported that currently Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey Efkan Ala holds a meeting with Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in connection with the explosion to Istanbul.
13:31 (GMT+4) The cause of the explosion is a terrorist attack, according to the Turkish Haber7 newspaper. It is reported that a suicide bomber blew himself up near the foreign tourists.
13:12 (GMT+4) Ten people were killed in the explosion according to preliminary reports, said the Turkish media. Citizenship of the blast victims has not yet been established. There are police officers among the wounded.
The work of subway stations in the city was suspended, after the explosion. Police fears a second explosion.
12:44 (GMT+4) It has been reported that the explosion occurred near the central mosque when tourists were passing by.
According to some Turkish media, the explosion was caused by a suicide bomber, but there are no official statements about the incident.
