Istanbul police have conducted a special operation and detained 87 people on suspicion of arms trafficking, the Haber7 newspaper reported July 1.
Additionally, more than a thousand firearms were seized during the operation.
There are foreigners among the detainees. However, their names haven’t been disclosed.
Special operations will be carried out in other major cities and provinces of the country as well, said the newspaper.
