Baku, Azerbaijan, Oct. 26
By Rufiz Hafizoglu – Trend:
The municipal election in Turkey will be held on March 31, 2019, the Turkish "Resmi Gazete" newspaper wrote Oct. 26.
The persons who intend to nominate their candidacy for municipal election must be registered with the Supreme Election Council of Turkey (YSK) before December 1, 2018, the message says.
The municipal election in Turkey is held every five years.
Earlier, the leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Devlet Bahceli, announced the termination of the alliance with the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) during the municipal election to be held in March 2019.
Bahceli said the MHP does not need an alliance with the party, which looks down upon their offer of amnesty for prisoners.
“During the municipal election to be held in 2019, the MHP will independently participate in the election,” Bahceli said.
Earlier, the MHP made a proposal for an amnesty, which caused dissatisfaction of the ruling AKP party.
