A prototype of a domestic high-speed train will be launched in Turkey, Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank said, Trend reports with reference to Turkish media.
The minister said that the first prototype will be presented in 2023, according to the report.
Varank noted that the production of domestic high-speed trains will eliminate Turkey’s dependence on imports of these products.
Earlier it was reported that the first domestic locomotive for a high-speed train will be built in Turkey.
In addition, production of spare parts for railway transport has been established in the Sakarya, Sivas and Eskisehir provinces.
For the first time, Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) announced the start of production of domestic locomotives in the country in 2014.
