Volumes of cargo transshipment via Turkish port of Bandirma revealed

A total of 38,906 tons of fuel oil were transported via Turkish port of Bandirma, Balikseir province in January 2020, Trend reports Feb.28 with reference to the Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Ministry.

The ministry noted that volumes of cargo transshipped by the vessels flying the Turkish flag made up 38,906 tons, and by those ones flying flags of other countries - 458,357 tons of cargo.

“In January 2020, no cargo was transported in the province of Balikesir in transit,” the ministry said.

During the reported period the volume of cargo transshipment via ports of Turkey has exceeded 32.9 million tons.

Through the same period cargo transshipment by vessels flying the Turkish flag has exceeded 2.4 million tons, while the vessels flying flags of other countries carried over 30.5 million tons of cargo.

In total, over 6.1 million tons of cargo were transported in transit through Turkish ports in January 2020.
