Turkey increases exports of citruses to Georgia

Turkey’s export of citrus fruits to Georgia increased in March 2020 by 26 percent compared to March 2019, Trend reports referring to Turkey's Union of Exporters of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables on April 13.

According to the union, Turkey's export of citrus to Georgia in the reporting month amounted to 3,562 tons, which makes up 3 percent of Turkey’s total citrus export.

In March 2020, Turkey exported citrus worth $1.3 million to Georgia, which is 40 percent more compared to the export figures of March 2019,” the union said.

During the reporting month, Turkey exported fruit and vegetables worth $178.8 million to world markets, which is 25 percent more compared to the same month of 2019.

Turkey’s foreign trade turnover in February 2020 exceeded $32.2 billion.

In February 2020, export from Turkey increased by 2.3 percent compared to February 2019, exceeding $14.6 billion.

Turkey's import increased by 9.8 percent in February 2020 compared to the same month of 2019 and exceeded $17.6 billion.
