Uzbekistan's import of mining industry products from Turkey down

Exports of mining industry products from Turkey to Uzbekistan fell by 86.3 percent in the first 5 months of 2020, compared to the same period in 2019, having made up $684,000, Turkey’s Ministry of Trade told Trend on June 29.

In May 2020, exports of mining products from Turkey to Uzbekistan plunged by 76.1 percent compared to May 2019 and made up $209,000.

From January through May 2020, Turkey’s export of mining products to the world markets dropped by 15.1 percent compared to the same period of 2019, having stood at $1.5 billion. In this period, Turkey’s export of mining products made up 2.5 percent of the country’s total exports.

In May 2020, Turkey exported $272.7 million worth of mining products to the foreign markets, which is 40.5 percent less compared to the same month of last year. Thus, the country’s export of mining products accounted for 2.7 percent of its total exports in the reporting month.

During the last 12 months (from May 2019 through May 2020), Turkey exported mining industry products worth over $4 billion to the international markets.
