Over 9.4 million tons of cargo were transported via Turkey’s Ambarli port in the first six months of 2021, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.
According to the ministry, in the reporting period, 1.3 million tons of cargo were handled through the port by ships flying the flag of Turkey, and more than 8 million tons by ships flying the flags of other countries to Turkish ports.
Meanwhile, over 5 million tons of cargo were transited via the port, the ministry said.
Over 188.2 million tons of goods had been transshipped through the Turkish ports from January through June 2021, 15.3 million tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the Turkish flag, and 172.8 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.
At the same time, over 37.2 million tons of cargo were shipped in transit via Turkish ports.
In June 2021, more than 31.5 million tons of goods were shipped via the ports of Turkey. In this month, the volume of cargo transportation by ships flying the Turkish flag through domestic ports amounted to 2.39 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 29.1 million tons.
According to the ministry, 6.25 million tons of transit cargo were handled via the ports of Turkey in June 2021.
