Turkey shares data on cargo shipment via its ports from Greece for 9M2021

Turkish ports handled over 12.4 million tons of cargo from Greece in 9M2021, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

According to the ministry, ships under the Turkish flag delivered 715,620 tons of cargo from Greece to ports, and ships under the flags of other countries – over 11.3 million tons.

During the reporting period, ships flying the flag of Greece delivered 322,089 tons of cargo to Turkish ports.

The ministry also noted that Turkish ports handled over 1.1 million tons of transit cargo from Greece in 9M2021.

In the first nine months of this year, the total volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey exceeded 286.3 million tons, and ships flying the Turkish flag handled over 22.2 million tons of goods.

In the first nine months of this year, the volume of cargo movement via Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of other countries amounted to 263.8 million tons, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, more than 57 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

In September 2021, the total volume of cargo shipment through the Turkish ports amounted to 32.9 million tons. In this month, ships flying the Turkish flag transshipped over 2.4 million tons of cargo, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 30.5 million tons.

Meanwhile, over 6.8 million tons of goods were transported in transit through the Turkish ports.
