The cargo turnover of Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport in 11M2021 amounted to 261,143 tons, which is 31 percent more than in the same period last year, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.
According to the ministry, during this period, cargo turnover on domestic flights amounted to 128,832 tons (an increase of 37 percent compared to 11M2020), on international - 132,311 tons (an increase of 25 percent).
It is noted that the passenger traffic at the airport amounted to over 22.7 million people, which is 44 percent more than in 1M2020. At the same time, passenger traffic on domestic flights amounted to 14.986 million people (an increase of 37 percent), on international – over 7.8 million people (an increase of 61 percent).
According to the ministry, the number of flights performed amounted to 165,259, which is 42 percent more than in the same period last year. At the same time, the number of flights performed on domestic routes accounted for 103,516 (an increase of 33 percent), on international lines - 61,743 (an increase of 59 percent).
Following the results of 11M2021, the passenger traffic at all airports in Turkey amounted to over 118.2 million people, and the cargo turnover - over three million tons.
