BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 3. Turkish ports received more than 391.7 million tons of cargo in 2023, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said, Trend reports.
The ministry noted that last year, Turkish-flagged vessels delivered 29.29 million tons of cargo to domestic ports, and the cargo flow by vessels sailing other countries' flags to Turkish ports was 362.4 million tons.
Meanwhile, 66.7 million tons of transit cargo were transported from Turkish ports.
Türkiye's ports received 36.37 million tons of cargo in December 2023, of which 2.7 million tons were delivered by Turkish-flagged vessels.
"Cargo traffic by vessels under the flags of other countries to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 33.6 million tons," the ministry pointed out.
Besides, over 5.2 million tons of transit cargoes were transported from the ports of Türkiye in December last year.
To note, Türkiye's ports received 60,195 vessels (40,918 vessels under the flags of other countries, and 19,277 vessels under the flag of Türkiye) in 2023.
In December last year, the ports of Türkiye received 4,697 vessels (3,190 vessels under the flags of other countries, and 1,507 vessels under the flag of Türkiye).
