BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 13. A total of 1.18 million tons of cargo were transported from the UK to the ports of Türkiye from January through February 2024, Trend reports via the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye.
The data from the ministry shows that Türkiye-flagged vessels delivered 4,570 tons of cargo from the UK to the ports, while vessels under the flags of other countries delivered 1.16 million tons.
During this period, 13,550 tons of cargo were delivered to Turkish ports by UK-flagged vessels from Türkiye. From January through February 2024, 42,365 tons of transit cargo were transported to Turkish ports from the UK.
In February 2024, Türkiye's ports received 32.8 million tons of cargo (2.37 million tons by vessels under the flag of Türkiye and 30.4 million tons by vessels under the flags of other countries).
In addition, in February 2024, 5.9 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye.
The ministry said that Turkish ports received 66.3 million tons of cargo from January through October 2023.
"From January through February 2024, vessels under the flag of Türkiye received 4.7 million tons of cargo. While vessels under the flags of other countries carried 61.3 million tons of cargo to Turkish ports," the report says.
The report also says that from January through October 2023, 11.2 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye.
In February of the current year, Turkish ports welcomed a total of 4,531 vessels, comprising 1,437 under the flags of other countries and 3,094 under the Turkish flag.
Turkish ports saw a total of 8,883 vessels, including 6,047 under the flags of other countries and 2,836 under the Turkish flag.
