BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 20. From January through February 2024, 1.5 million tons of cargo were moved from the Netherlands to Turkish ports, Trend reports via the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
According to the ministry, Turkish-flagged vessels delivered 6,214 tons of cargo to ports in the Netherlands, while vessels under the flags of other countries delivered 1.44 million tons.
During this time, Dutch-flagged vessels delivered 42,202 tons of cargo to Turkish ports. From January through February 2024, 62,188 tons of transit cargo were shipped to Turkish ports from the Netherlands.
In February 2024, Türkiye ports received 32.8 million tons of cargo.
During this period, the cargo traffic to the inland ports of Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 2.7 million tons.
Cargo traffic of vessels under the flags of other countries to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 1.26 million tons.
In addition, 5.9 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye in February 2024.
According to the ministry, Türkiye ports received 66 million tons of cargo between January and February 2024.
"Turkish-flagged vessels carried 4.7 million tons of cargo during January and February 2024. Meanwhile, cargo traffic to Turkish ports by boats under the flag of other countries amounted to 61.3 million tons," the report said.
It was highlighted that from January through February 2023, Türkiye ports transported 11.1 million tons of transit cargo.
In February of this year, the ports of Türkiye received 4,531 vessels.
According to information, during this period, the number of vessels accepted in Turkish ports under the flags of other countries amounted to 437,000, and the number of vessels accepted under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 3,094.
From January through February 2024, Türkiye ports received 8,883 vessels.
During this period, vessels under the flags of other countries accepted by Turkish ports amounted to 6,047, and vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 2,836.
