AZERI PRESIDENT MEETS WITH RESIDENTS OF SABIRABAD

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited Sabirabad District on Thursday. He attended the opening of the Olympic Complex and Mugan clinic, Trend reports.

Later Aliyev addressed to the public in the Heydar Aliyev Park and spoke about the economic growth and forthcoming parliamentary elections. Over the past 8 months the economic growth in the country made up 20%, industrial growth - 26%, the community money incomes - 27%, the amount of deposits placed in banks - 50%, while minimal wages and stipends rose twice.

“As Azerbaijan is an agrarian country, half population is involved in the agrarian sector and consequently the development of the agrarian sector is the first-rate task. The oil revenues have not realized yet, while there is economic growth in the country. The activities of the Oil Fund are absolutely transparent and every citizen can receive information on the direction of use of oil revenues,” President Aliyev emphasized.

Stressing the attention of social direction of the public budget and establishment of economy on the base of market principles, the head of state noted that the development market economy is a major term for consolidation of the country. “Nevertheless, it would not be right to act on the base of market economy,” Aliyev underscored.

Speaking in the forthcoming parliamentary elections the President stressed that it was of great significance. “The MPs will play a considerable role in the improvement of the legislative base and grasping the European standards. However, the parliamentary elections are not held for the replacement in power in Azerbaijan,” the President stated.

Aliyev also stressed the unacceptability of the interference of local executive bodies to the elections processes.
