Azerbaijan and Pakistan will establish a Joint Business Council for the promotion of trade activities, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Vice President Mohammad Waseem Vohra said, the Pakistani newspaper The Express Tribune reported Apr.4.

"There is enormous potential in bilateral trade with Azerbaijan, especially in sectors like rice, textile, engineering, plastic, chemicals and agriculture products," he said.

It is reported that the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Azerbaijan and Pakistan have recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) during Vohra's visit to Azerbaijan.

He said that the government is giving due importance to Azerbaijan, this can be seen by the number of delegates that accompanied Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain during the trip.

The delegation headed by president of Pakistan was in Baku March 11-14. Azerbaijani-Pakistani documents on strategic cooperation, transfer of sentenced persons, cooperation between Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy University and Foreign Service Academy, as well as a protocol on bilateral military cooperation were signed during the official visit.
