Azerbaijani banks’ liabilities to Central Bank decrease

Azerbaijani banks’ liabilities to the country’s Central Bank (CBA) decreased by 0.6 percent during a year, amounting to 6.38 billion manats as of Mar. 1, 2017, says a CBA report.

As compared to early 2017, the liabilities decreased by 9 percent.

As of late February 2016, liabilities of commercial banks to the CBA amounted to 6.42 billion manats, while as of early 2017 they amounted to 7.04 billion manats.

The volume of foreign liabilities of the Central Bank remains unchanged and totals 2.2 million manats.

During the year, official international reserves of the Central Bank increased by 8.5 percent from 4.02 billion manats to 4.36 billion manats.

During the period, net liabilities of the CBA to the Azerbaijani government decreased by 58.8 percent and totaled 2.5 billion manats.

The net liabilities of the CBA to the Azerbaijani government amounted to 6.08 billion manats as of Mar. 1, 2016.
