Kazakh people’s applications for shares of People's IPO program’s pioneer KazTransOil hit 2 billion tenge ($13.3 million)

Kazakh people's applications for shares of People's IPO program's pioneer KazTransOil hit 2 billion tenge ($13.3 million), Novosti-Kazakhstan quoted deputy chairman of Kazakh Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna Kuandyk Bishimbayev as saying


"The volume of applications for KazTransOil's shares hit 2 billion tenge," Bishimbayev wrote in his Facebook account.

The process of accepting the applications for the purchase of KazTransOil shares under the People's IPO program started on Nov. 6.

Value of one ordinary KazTransOil share during the initial offering on the organized securities market was previously set at 725 tenge (150.33 tenge = $1) per share.

The People's IPO will allow the Kazakh citizens to become co-owners of the major national companies. The program envisages a phased placement of the shares of the biggest and stable state companies on the stock market in 2012-2015.
