Euro, British pound prices fall at Iran’s Forex center

The U.S. dollar was sold at the price of 26,581 rials at Iran's Forex center on August 25.

The euro was also presented at the price of 35,096 rials, while the British pound was traded at 44,016 rials, Iran's IRNA News Agency reported on Aug. 18.

The euro, British pound and U.S. dollar were traded at the prices of 35,184, 44,029, and 26,568 rials on Sunday.

The U.S. dollar was also sold at the price of 31,170 rials at the free market on Aug. 25, while the euro and British pound were presented at the price of 41,370, and 51,700 rials, respectively.

The foreign exchange center was officially inaugurated on September 24, 2012.

The center allows importers of goods including truck tires, construction equipment and synthetic fibers to buy dollars at a rate 2 percent cheaper than the street rate at any given time.

According to the center's spokesman Samad Karimi, Iran's Forex center has the capacity to trade over 100 million dollars each working day.
