Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Kakha Kaladze noted that "the energy sector may have serious problems in the case of economic growth."

He was commenting on gossip arising after Ivanishvili team made a statement about the inadvisability of building large hydropower plants.

"Statement on the construction of large hydropower plants caused very large gossip.

I would say that the construction of 15 hydropower plants has already started and will continue. We discuss the construction of large hydroelectric power plants, so that everything is done in compliance with environmental standards. If economic growth continues - and I'm sure that it will continue - there is a belief that there will be serious problems in the energy sector in three years," Kaladze said.

However, he noted that all agreements and contracts that have been issued by the previous government will be reviewed.
