Azerbaijan exported 11.33 million kilowatt/hours of electricity upon a customs declaration in January 2013, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee said today.
According to the report, electricity was exported to a total amount of $677,970 in Jan.
In January 2013, Azerenergy (production and distribution of electricity in Azerbaijan) generated more than 2.1 billion kilowatt/hours of electricity compared to about 2.2 billion kilowatt/hours of electricity in January 2012.
The power generation capacity of the plants owned by Azerenergy is more than 6,000 megawatts.
There are more than 200 substations with capacities of 500, 330, 220 and 110 kV, as well as six and 13 hydroelectric power plants under the JSC.
