Kyrgyzstan's President Almazbek Atambayev has signed a decree to schedule the parliamentary election for Oct.4, the representative of Kyrgyzstan's presidency told RIA Novosti.

"Under the president's decree, the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda has been instructed to ensure a free, fair and transparent election in accordance with the country's law," said the source.

Atambayev also instructed the government to allocate necessary funds for preparing and holding the election, as well as to take required measures to ensure the citizens' rights and freedoms, protect the public order and public security.

The pre-election campaign will start from Sept.4 in accordance with Kyrgyzstan's law.

Kyrgyzstan's parliament (Jogorku Kenesh) consists of 120 seats and the parliament members are elected for the term of five years by party-list proportional voting.
