The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) of Iran plans to establish an airport in the Persian Gulf island of Faror, said Akbar Torkan, the secretary of Iran's Free Trade Zones Coordination Council.
Torkan said IRGC has plans to establish two airports on the Greater Faror and the Lesser Faror islands, Iran's IRNA news agency reported on October 1.
Comprehensive studies have been carried out since last year to establish tourism infrastructures, recreational sites, airports, and docks at the islands, he added.
Faror Island is an island of Hormozgan Province in the Persian Gulf. It is located 36 miles from the city of Abu Moussa and 141 miles from Bandar Abbas
