Iran plans to consume 240 bcm of gas

Iran plans to supply 25 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas to domestic sectors, especially power plants and industrial sector, in the current fiscal year, said Manouchehr Taheri, director of the dispatching center at the National Iranian Gas Company.

Taheri said that for the current fiscal year (FY), which started on March 21, Iran plans to consume 240 bcm of natural gas.

He didn't explain the details of the gas consumption growth in the domestic market, but Iran has planned to increase gas deliveries to power plants from 58 bcm in the last FY to 65 bcm in the current FY.

Iran hasn't unveiled the raw gas production volume for the last FY, but according to the Iranian officials' statements, the country's raw gas production stood at 700 mcm/d (or 260 bcm) the last FY.

Iran re-injected about 34 bcm of gas to oil fields to maintain crude oil production the last year.
