Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has arrived to the Persian Gulf country of Oman. He was officially welcomed by King Qaboos bin Said.
Delegations from the two countries are slated to hold meetings on the sidelines of Rouhani's trip, IRIB news agency reported February 15.
Iran and Oman have a history of good ties. In 2013, Oman facilitated direct ties between Tehran and Washington, which led to the nuclear deal two years later.
Prior to his trip to Oman, President Rouhani said that Iran did welcome the message of the six Persian Gulf littoral states delivered to the country by the Kuwaiti government.
