The newly appointed Estonian ambassador to Uzbekistan with residence in Moscow Simmu Tiik has handed over his credentials addressed to the head of state to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, the Foreign Ministry said.
During the meeting the sides discussed the bilateral agenda.
It was noted in particular that the political dialogue at various levels, the interaction on topical international and regional issues meets the interests of both countries.
The parties stressed the importance of the economic component in relations between Uzbekistan and Estonia, where there is a large unrealized potential for the development of mutually beneficial relationships.
As a key element of strengthening contacts between the two countries it is envisaged to give new impetus to cooperation in the field of tourism.
The meeting also discussed other promising areas of cooperation, including scientific, technical and cultural-humanitarian spheres, the Foreign Ministry said.
