The diplomat drew attention to the fact that the two countries and peoples associated geographical and ethnic proximity, unbreakable bonds of commonality of historical destinies, culture, traditions, customs, language or religion, have a great opportunity for close and effective cooperation.
According to him, since independence the countries were able to take their rightful place in the world community. "Today, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan are considered not only as a partner capable of transporting energy, but also as modern countries, tolerant, enlightened states with a young population, have great potential in tourism, space industry in all spheres of modern society. Azerbaijani diplomat said that the foreign policy of modern Azerbaijan is reflected in the strategy development of good neighborly and mutually beneficial relations with other states.
"Relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan have always been good-neighborly and brotherly character," - he said.
According to him, over 20 years of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan there were established a solid international legal framework, which includes the bilateral documents signed on the interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental levels.
The agreements signed within the framework of mutual visits by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave new impetus to sustained development of friendly relations between our two countries, the letter says.
