Some 450 battalions were established to provide comprehensive defense in case of an attack on Iran, commander of Iranian Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Mohammad Ali Jafari said, Mehr reported.
The 450 "Imam Huseyn" battalions were trained by the IRGC, and underwent heavy training and preparations for the possible invasion.
"While the enemies know about Iran's military power, and cannot attack, we are ready to defend ourselves," Jafari noted.
Jafari did not disclose the number of soldiers in the battalion, yet he added that female battalions from Basij have been established as well, in case of emergency.
Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Brigadier General Hossein Salami yesterday said that Iran is ready to stand against International military coalition headed by the United States.
Speaking on National television of Iran, Salami said that Iran is not worried about possible threats on it, yet if attacked, the country will give a proper response.
"We have planned and gone through the worst-case scenarios for this war," Salami said. "We have studied the most negative outcomes and options."
