Delegation from Iran led by country's Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi arrived in Iraq today, ISNA reported.
This is the first ever visit of Iran's Defense Minister to Iraq since the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
Within the framework of the visit, Vahidi is scheduled to meet with Iraq's defense minister Sadun Al-Duleymi, and other officials.
Iran's defense minister should also be holding important talks about latest regional and international happenings, and will discuss the development questions, cooperation issues between the two countries.
In a press statement prior to the visit, Vahidi said that Iran is interested in deveoping its relations with neighboring countries.
"Iraq holds a special spot in Iran's foreign and domestic defense policy," Vahidi said.
