Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili is strongly against the sales by the Defence Ministry of Super Puma helicopters purchased in France.
"We purchased two powerful Super Puma helicopters in France and we had an opportunity to purchase two more. But now I have learnt that the Defence Ministry intends to sell these helicopters abroad. It turns out that they can not maintain the helicopters," Saakashvili said.
According to the head of state, Georgian Defence Ministry negotiates about the sales of the helicopters with the St. Petersburg businessmen through intermediaries.
Saakashvili stressed that the helicopters could also be useful during the rescue operations in the mountains.
