Turkey invited Azerbaijan to take part in the G20 summit, to be held in Antalya in 2015, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan was quoted by Dec. 1 TRT Haber TV channel as saying.

He said that Azerbaijan's participation in the G20 summit has special importance for Turkey.

He also said that Turkey has headed G20 since Dec. 1, 2014.

Babacan said that Turkey will lead the world economy for the whole year.

Babacan said that Ankara will enable a dialogue among the G20 countries and the least developed countries worldwide dedicated to the economic inequality during Turkey's presidency in G20.

Earlier, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that Turkey plays a significant role in the world politics and economics because of its economic potential.

"When the Turkish ruling Justice and Development Party came to power, Turkey was 26th among the world's economies," he said. "At preset, it ranks 16th in the world and is the sixth largest economy in Europe."

"The countries may at any time ask us for help to solve their problems," Davutoglu said.

G20 participants are the 20 largest national economies - Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Great Britain, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Canada, China, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, the USA, Turkey, France, South Korea, South Africa, Japan and the EU.
