Assistant U.S. of State for Europe and Eurasia Philip Gordon is expected to visit Azerbaijan on June 10, U.S. embassy Public Relations Office Head Terry Davidson told Trend .
"We expect that assistant secretary Philip Gordon will come to Azerbaijan about on June 10. We are trying to confirm the exact schedule," Davidson said.
The trip will be short, he said.
As a part of regional visit, Gordon will trip to Armenia on June 9 and then to Georgia following Azerbaijan.
This is Gordon's first visit to the region in his new post that he assumed on May 15. Previously he served as research fellow for foreign policy of U.S. and Europe in Brookings University in Washington. Earlier he was responsible for European affairs at the U.S. National Security Council.
