Trial begins on Azerbaijani soldier charged of espionage for Armenia

A trial has begun on an Azerbaijani soldier charged of treason.
Junior Sergeant of the Defense Ministry military unit N Anar Allahverdiyev who was charged of cooperation with the Armenian special services during a military service pleaded not guilty at the juridical procedure held in the Military Serious Crime Court.
Allahverdiyev is accused of transferring information about the military unit to the Armenian military servicemen in November-December, violating rules of the combat duty, abusing his office duties and powers.
Allahverdiyev was arrested in January 2009.
The process lasted with witnesses' testimonies.
At present the Military Serious Crime Court is holding trials on 11 people charged of treason.
